The annual candy gorge
Just returned from taking my son Mark trick or treating. We went to a local mall and so lots of candy, some at every stop, and a nice journey all in all. He was very polite, and got lots of candy, which even now he’s playing with his ninja swords instead of eating. Not a big one for candy. He ate some pieces in the car but other than that he seems to be done… oh yea! More for me (that is sarcasm).
The only thing that made me a little upset is that we also trick or treated for Unicef. So many of the people, not knowing what it was I guess, could have afforded a little change and instead said no. I could tell by the shame in their eyes that they had, they just didn’t want to give. It made me sad that people so wealthy were so miserly. It helped if I said it was helping the kids in the hurricane. But not always. The mall trick or treating was sponsored by the Littleton Police, and wouldn’t you know, these men who probably are scraping by themselves and donating their time for the kids here in Littleton, dug into their pockets without hesitation. Just makes you wonder sometimes huh?
